here i am back again writing about my experience here so far.. a lot of small things happened since i last wrote here.. me going to the Park in the Easter day which was April 12th, i went biking.. and there is where i lost my phone.. the Park is huge.. full of green hills, huge trees and a lake you can’t ask for more.. plus a sunny day.. all families .. BBQing and enjoying the day.. some of them are playing volleyball, some are riding bikes.. others are playing football, some flying kites.. and many are just relaxing.. it was really amazing.. those kids are really lucky and happy.. ours are sad

i have nothing specific to write here.. maybe i tell you about me buying a new MacBook.. yes.. this is interesting..

the price for this laptop in Egypt is 9800 LE.. here in the apple store it is $1300 + the sales tax which is around 9% ..

so you end up paying like $1430 or something.. too much for me… so i searched on www.craigslist.com as mimi adviced me.. it is classified advertisement website just like ebay but you dont pay online.. the person who sells posts his ad, you mail him.. you both meet and make the deal.. mostly you pay cash upon sealing the deal..

i searched for MacBook in my local area “inland empire” found few.. sent them.. they were all used laptops.. with a big variation of specs so i had to take sometime and think about which one to get..

i found a new one listed for $1150 with no sales tax of course.. the lady “Natalie” from Russia, told me it is a gift she revcieved 3 months ago.. it is factory sealed and never been opened.. that was a bit scary.. hard to believe in these circumstances.. anyways, a couple of phone calls and then Mimi Drove me to Pasadena where we agreed to meet in one starbucks. we made the deal.. i asked her to sign a paper that she sold me that item and i checked the ID and gave her the cash.. and here we go.. i got the laptop saving 3500 LE from the Egyptian price.. isn’t this awesome?

yes it is an expensive one.. but it is worth it.. i really love it.. specially the multi-touch track pad.. i feel like i am 10 years ahead in the time between Mac and Windows.. Mac rocks

yesterday i met Dena, a Syrian American medical student.. she is a muslim, she is somehow conservative and she is pretty .. we were having the conversation about the Muslims here and how they live and the obstacles.. and as i expected, she is 26 years old and having a hard time finding a match.. she doesnt have a lot of options.. she said, there are two types of people available for marriage .. one is the older guys like 35+ who did everyting, had fun and seeking marriage to settle down.. the other is the very young extremely religious guys who are not really her type.. she is single.. it is hard for you to see such a pretty well educated Muslim girl who is suffering from lack of choices.. but it happens.. the other way is to marry some muslim guy from the middle east.. but she knows that most of them are not really interested in her as they would be interested in coming to the states.. i wish her the best..

i have a presentation about the medical education and the health care system in Egypt vs. that in the states.. that is scheduled to be next thursday isA.. so i will have to work hard to get it done on time and make a good representation.. creative ideas or materials will be highly appreciated i am planning for some adventure this weekend isA.. you will hear very good news isA just dont tell my mom
