Assalamo Alaikum,

Today i am going to tell a long story full of exciting things, strange things and crazy things.

I will start the post with some definitions so that things are easier to understand.

Bungee Jumping: is the process of jumping from a height while you are tied to a rubbery rope.. you fall freely then the rope prevents you from hitting the ground ( and dying! ). Usually bungee is from a bridge.

Hiking: Is walking in the hard nature. Walking in a rocky mountain, a forest or a cliff. Usually you need trekking shoes or running shoes to help you keep your balance on slippery and unstable surfaces. It is a bit dangerous.

Saturday, Bungee Day.

Woke up at 6am, Mimi packed all my luggage and left them home because I am going to leave La Verne after I come from the Bungee. Mimi Drove me to the meeting venue. Bungee Masters came and they lectured us about the procedures and the protocols we are going to be following to reach the bungee bridge which is called “ Bridge to nowhere! “.. we had like 100+ jumper that day. Some of them will jump multiple times.

The service I used was www.bungeeamerica.com they are really good. Have been in business since 1989 and they didn’t have a single accident. Which answers the question about how safe is the jump. The single jump costs $69 as you can see on the website.

So, everybody went into his car and we started driving up the mountains. I was lonely a bit. Didn’t have car, so I asked the jumping masters to pick me up. They welcomed. Once I got in the car, Brandon the jumping master told me: “ you can move your shit in the back if you want! “. You can imagine the look on my face. WTF.. you don’t even know me! He got a bit confused. Looks like this is the normal situation. Got in the car and we started driving and talking. Talked about extreme things and life and the usual boring conversation about the difference between Egypt and USA which I have been telling tens of times so far! We Drove among the green mountains in a very curly road. I loved the scenery so much that I felt like in wonderlands.

We parked the car and all the group gathered and we took some instructions from the jumping masters and we started hiking. In a very rocky path in the mountain, we walked on rocks.. ups and downs.. crossed several rivers with our feet, meaning no bridges no nothing. The water reached my knee most of the time, and we struggled to keep our balance against the river stream. It is more like a spring or something. We hiked for two hours towards the bridge. Then we were there! It was one of the best activities I did in my life.

When we reached the bridge, we sat to rest from the hiking and the instructor started to give us information about how things are going to work, the company history and the safety measures. We started jumping one after one and then came my jump J I wasn’t really scared not because I am a man I have to say this but because I had had seen many jumpers just before I jump. I jumped. The acceleration was terrifying. Not like the other jumpers, I didn’t scream. I was amazed in silence. Then I started recoiling up and down, right and left and back and forth.. was really a new amazing experience.. when you fall towards the rocks and suddenly you stop!

Bungee jumping is very safe in this company.. a bit scary when you look over the bridge but the fear goes away just after the first jump.. I can tell the difference..

We hiked back to the parking spot and then we drove back to the city.

Through the hiking, we could see people mining in the river for the gold, we could see students hiking to the mountain to camp with their teachers. And we spent a really amazing time..
