On an almost empty plane from Rome to Cairo. Here I am writing about my latest destination in my 50 days trip to the states, New York.
What happened in New York? What did I do there? I don’t think I will talk much about it. I prepared a list of more than 10 places to visit and fulfilled only 3 or 4 of them. Yet I was very happy. Yes I didn’t see New York from the empire state building top. Neither had a 15 minutes Helicopter ride to see the “big apple” from the sky.
No Museums no shows almost nothing but walking around the streets doing nothing specific other than having fun and enjoying the place. I loved New York.
The beginning was when I contacted many couchsurfing members to host me. Two of them offered that. Evan, is the one who hosted me eventually. Evan and his roommate Miranda “practice” couchsurfing. They host people from allover the world for free all the time in their apartment. They started doing so last January in their very cozy nice apartment. So, I wasn’t the only international friend. They had:
1- Khatia from Georgia but living in Moscow.. speaks some Arabic.
2- Bessy from Australia. She is just so nice and funny.. ready to be happy all the time.
3- Ernesta from Lithuania. My Guide in to the city.. we lost two hours looking for the brooklyn bridge stairs but we had lots of fun on that!
4- Josef from New Zealand. He is so kind and funny.
5- Shin from Korea. Didn’t talk with her a lot but at least she taught me how to write my name in Korean.
6- Katerina from Austria. She is the closest person to me in New York, we got to hang around in two days and had a great time. She was studying for a semester in another states and now she is heading home, it is funny that we had the flight in the same day, almost the same time and from the same terminal. We left together to the airport.. My sister
7- Michel from Belgium. a nice man with deep thoughts and diplomatic answers
8- Seth from California,
9- Lucas, Seth’s brother. Seth and Lucas are young but very open minded and educated. Although we didnt go out together, they inspired me on how to make use of my time.. Thanks guys.
10-Amanda from Trinidad and Tobago joined us in the last night of my staying.
That was great. It is not my first time to be in such an international group, but the memories repeated themselves and I got a really enriching experience
Most of the hanging out around New York I spent with Ernesta and Kat, Lithuania and Austria. We walked and walked and walked. Then ate then walked J .. We had really great time as you can see in my facebook album
I don’t feel like talking about what we did, were we went or talking about themselves. We just had fun and I will for sure visit New York again inshallah.
The last night in my stay, we bought colors and went coloring our faces. Then we had really a set of creepy and funny photos that I will be posting into my facebook profile once I get them.
So the trip is done and I am going home. When I look back in these days, man, this was a lot J alhamdulillah.
Now when I look forward, to my beloved country
it is not as beautiful as the states. But maybe because I always looked at it down. I am coming to Egypt with hope, optimism, and a lots of plans. I am not going into a series of depression, curses and disappointment. I really know the difference. Not playing the cool American guy who looks down to everything and say, “in the states we had this and that” actually I will be trying not to
I will try to overcome everything. And now as my lifeline is getting to have more details and shape up, I will be doing what I really want to do the way I want to do.
I will go on on being the happiest man on earth
till I control the whole world with my brother Morad.. ha ha ha haaaaaaa

Adham- I live in New York. I am a graphic designer. I stumbled upon you at Scriptlance, went to adhamox.com (blank page) and then Twitter which brought me here. Not as exciting as your trip to NYC but I am seeing/reading new ideas and enjoying your views. Contact me if you want to start a conversation about web design (I need help from time to time), New York City (I would have insisted you go to The Metropolitan Museum when you were here) and what ever else might fall from a keyboard.
PS Just reread this post to my wife and realize you spent 50 days in the USA. My journey in your blog continues. You probably didn’t go to my home states SD and MN.
