Assalamo alaikum,
Sorry for writing in English but i am using the internet in the university and obviously it doesn’t have an arabic keyboard.
anyways, it is the actual fourth day in Pomona. Today is the first day i am going to the clinic. It is 7:20 am now and i should be there @ 8 am to start.. i will be working isA till 5 pm :-s there is an hour break @ 12 for lunch i guess.
i dont know what to write or where to start from.. may be i will just start from the moment i got from the plane arriving to LAX, Los Angeles Airport. A lot of things happened.. might not have the time or the patience to write them all here.. but at least..i will try.. maybe even it will be so hard to tell the story as a whole.. i shall write my diaries more often as i stopped doing this in NY JFK airport.
i think a good way to keep in touch and avoid being lazy is to write a list.. taking away the necessity of the story-telling thing. whatever,
* first night i stayed with Mike, a medical student living alone in two rooms a small kitchen and a small bathroom, the bathroom is in the lobby meaning no doors! yes.. the house is like compartments, you enter the house directly to his room then you find a door. you open it you find yourself in the kitchen, the kitchen has a door, you open it you find yourself in the bathroom, the bathroom has a door you open it you find yourself in my room!!
so if i were to come from outside and want to go to my room and mike was in the bathroom, i would just have to either pass by him or wait for him top open the door.. amazing, huh?
* he had three cats, i dont get a long with pets.. at all.. dont want to touch them..
* he had a 50″ TV.. yes.. 5amseen boosa.. in this small house? yes.. he used it to play XBox..
zii el play station.. he bought this TV for $500 on ebay.. he drove 200 miles to pick it up.. he is lucky.. it is like a really big screen.. i wish i can get it even for $1000.. but even if so, i wouldnt be able to ship it to Egypt.. and they will &*&*^* me in the customs!!
next day i went to meet Doctor Alan Cundari, did so, went to the mall.. then met Rasoul.. Rasoul ( messenger ) is an Irani in origin medical student who was broght up in Iran, then went to UK for 3 years.. then he is here now.. Muslim, Shi3i.. from the moment we met, he said that he knew there was a student coming from Egypt and he wanted to host me but he is busy with exams and so.. he is very interested in doing a lot of conversations with me about Islam, Sunna and Shi3a, of course he is Shi3i.. he kept talking all the way we drove about Islam and the life.. the way Islam should impact our lives and the evolution it should go through us in our thinking.. these are the things you never hear from your friends.. never hear them in Egypt.. his words were so deep for me.. i am afraid i am getting closer to Allah in America! how funny and ironic is this!?
we drove together to the soccer game between the 1st year students and the 2nd year students, i will tell you later about the medicine in USA and how they study it.. it is 7:33 now.. i better get going to the clinic and buy a stethoscope on my way from the university bookstore… i will try to take some photos.. i didnt in the past days.. was just enjoying the experience so far..
will try to write again today and will try to write in Arabic.
Salam for you brothers and sisters.
From the Happy Man in USA
